Carpal tunnel symptoms occur because of compression of the median nerve as it passes through the wrist. Carpal tunnel symptoms are characterized by pain and numbness of the thumb, first finger, and the half of the second finger.


Sometimes people will develop weakness and often the symptoms of carpal tunnel are worse at night.


Carpal tunnel symptoms are common during pregnancy.
