Cause of Anorexia

 



Although anorexia nervosa is a well-known cause of weight loss, other medical conditions can cause anorexia. These include AIDS, adrenal insufficiency, alcoholism, appendicitis, cancer, renal failure, and cirrhosis.

Other causes of anorexia include Crohn's disease, depression, gastritis, viral hepatitis, hypopituitarism, ketoacidosis, and pernicious anemia.

Drugs such as chemotherapy, amphetamines, and digitalis can cause anorexia.
