Cause of Back Pain

 



Almost everyone will develop back pain at one point in their life. The cause of back pain, can be related to disorders of the back or can be refred pain.

The medical causes of back pain include abdominal aortic aneurysm, ankylosing spondylitis, appendicitis, gallstones, chordoma, endometriosis, and rupture of an intervertebral disk.

Lumbosacral sprain, metastatic cancer, myeloma, pancreatitis, perforated ulcer, and prostate cancer can all be a cause of back pain.

Reiter's syndrome, kidney stones, sacroiliac strain, spinal cord tumors, spinal stenosis, spondylothesis, fracture of the transverse process, compression fracture of the vertebrae, osteomyelitis of the vertebrae, and osteoporosis of the vertebrae can all cause back pain.
