Cause of Nausea

 


The cause of nausea can be related to adrenal insufficiency, appendicitis, cholecystitis, gallstones, cirrhosis, diverticulitis, pregnancy, electrolyte abnormalities, E. coli infection, gastric cancer, gastritis, gastroenteritis, or heart failure.

Hepatitis, infection, inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal obstruction, or irritable bowel syndrome can be a cause of nausea.

Labyrinthitis, lactose intolerance, Listeria, Menier’s disease, mesenteric ischemia, metabolic acidosis, migraine, motion sickness, myocardial infarction, acute or chronic pancreatitis, peptic ulcer disease, peritonitis, preeclampsia, Q fever, kidney stones, rhabdomyolysis, hyperthyroidism, and typhus can all be a cause of nausea.
