Celiac disease develops because of gastrointestinal gliadin sensitivity. The symptoms of celiac disease include abdominal discomfort associated with malabsorption of nutrients from the GI tract.


Often, people will become anemic and will have associated symptoms of anemia. Symptoms of celiac disease can include weight-loss, fatigue, abdominal distention, and diarrhea.


Celiac disease can be associated with a skin condition known as dermatitis herpetiformise.
