Symptoms of chickenpox occur in people infected and with the Varicella zoster virus. Chickenpox occurs in approximately 50,000 people per year in United States.

Chickenpox symptoms generally include a rash. Other chickenpox symptoms include vesicles and pustules that generally scab over.

The lesions associated with chickenpox will be found at various stages of development. The rash generally begins on the face and body and rapidly spreads over a period of two to four days.

People with chickenpox symptoms often will have a low-grade fever and other signs of systemic infection.
