Endocarditis symptoms occur when there is inflammation or infection involving the heart valves

Most commonly endocarditis is related to bacterial infection of the heart valves. Endocarditis symptoms can include fever and chills.


Often people will have headache or backache. Sometimes people will develop joint pain and confusion. Sometimes a cough can develop.


Endocarditis symptoms have been associated with weight loss and night sweats. People with endocarditis can develop stroke. Many people have a new heart valves and sometimes people will develop a new skin rash. 

Bacterial endocarditis symptoms are most commonly seen in intravenous drug users.
