Return to Home Page  Return to Symptoms Page

Endometriosis symptoms occur when endometrial tissue develops outside the uterus resulting in abnormal cyclic tissue growth. The most common endometriosis symptoms are pain and irregular menstrual periods.

The pain of endometriosis is cyclic and is most severe in the days prior to a menstrual period. Endometriosis can be associated with painful intercourse.

Infertility can develop when the endometrial tissue or scarring occurs in the fallopian tubes.
