Folliculitis symptoms occur with inflammation or infection of the hair follicle. Folliculitis symptoms can result in papules or pustules at the base if a hair follicle.


Sometimes people will develop redness, itching, or swelling. Folliculitis symptoms often occur on the scalp, face, legs, axilla, trunk, and inguinal area.


Folliculitis is most commonly related to bacterial infection.
