Food poisoning symptoms can occur after infection with bacteria or intoxication with toxins produced by bacteria. There are many bacteria, which can be associated with these symptoms, including E. coli, Salmonella, Shigella, Staphylococcus, Campylobacter, Vibrio, and Clostridium.
Patients can develop, fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, bloody stool, cramping, or headache.
