The symptoms of ITP are related to the drop in the platelet count. Platelets are responsible for hemostasis. Low platelets (thrombocytopenia) result in bleeding, bruising, and petechiae.

Other symptoms include bleeding with brushing teeth and spontaneous nosebleeds.
