Impetigo symptoms occur secondary to an infection of the skin caused by group A beta hemolytic streptococcal infection or Staphylococcus aureus infection.


Impetigo symptoms include a 2 to 4 mm macule that he evolves into a pustule that later ruptures leaving a crusted yellow exudate.


Impetigo can be very contagious. Impetigo symptoms are generally treated with antibiotics and local control.
