Onychomycosis symptoms occur because of a chronic fungal infection of the nails of the toes are fingers.


Onychomycosis symptoms are generally characterized by a discoloration of the nails with a yellow or white patch.


Sometimes Onychomycosis symptoms include splitting of the nail crumbling of the nail and even disintegration of the nail.


The nail can fall off and the skin in that area can also be infected with the associated fungus. This may be painful but often people do not have any associated pain.
