Foot problems can be separated into several groups. Foot problems that affect the soft tissue and nerves include ingrown toenails, corns, warts, and infection. The bones or joints can be involved with hammertoe, heel spurs, stress fractures, shin splints, rheumatoid arthritis, and gout. Other foot problems include those involving the muscle and nerves. These include neuromas, peripheral neuropathy, muscle sprain, cramping, and injury. Tendons and fascia can cause foot problems such as Achilles tendonitis and plantar fasciitis.
