Kidney problems can occur without many signs or symptoms. People generally do not have pain or discomfort when they have kidney problems. Kidney problems can occur even in if someone has normal urine output. The most common causes of kidney problems are hypertension and diabetes. The symptoms associated with kidney problems often do not occur until people have advanced kidney disease. Kidney problems can most easily be determined with blood and urine testing.
