Rheumatic fever symptoms can include joint pain, skin rash, chest pain, fever, abdominal pain, weakness, and fatigue. 


Rheumatic fever symptoms occur as a result of a group A streptococcal infection.


Often rheumatic fever will be associated with arthritis involving multiple joints, shortness of breath, painless lumps beneath the skin, and asymptomatic kidney failure.


Syndeham’s chorea is a less common rheumatic fever symptom characterized by rapid uncontrolled motions of the arms and face that can occur in the setting of rheumatic fever.
