West Nile Virus symptoms occur in patients who are infected with the West Nile Virus. This illness is spread by mosquitoes. Patients who are infected with the virus can have very few West Nile Virus Symptoms or very severe symptoms.

Common West Nile Virus symptoms include fever, headache, back pain, diarrhea, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, muscle aches, vomiting, or sore throat.


Symptoms of West Nile Virus generally occur days after exposure and last for a period of 3-5 days. Sometimes severe infections can develop characterized by West Nile Symptoms of meningitis or encephalitis.


These people will develop severe headache. Other West Nile Symptoms could include confusion, disorientation, vision changes, stiff neck, loss of consciousness, or severe muscle weakness.
